  • Queen City Art 4237 Raleigh Street Charlotte, NC, 28213 United States (map)

Emancipation: Perspectives of Freedom, Independence, and Liberation

Experience the vibrant, complex narratives of Caribbean identity at "Emancipation: Perspectives of Freedom, Independence, and Liberation." This group exhibition brings together painters, sculptors, photographers, and multimedia artists whose work examines the ongoing journey from colonial history to self-determination. Through bold color, layered symbolism, and intimate storytelling, the show explores themes of memory, resistance, cultural survival, and the many expressions of freedom.

Featured artist Eren Telimen presents a body of work that bridges personal and collective histories. Eren has been a longtime member of QCA and her works feature a thoughtful, evocative investigation of color and symmetry.

Join us for an opening reception with artist remarks and guided tours that illuminate the conversations at the heart of the show. Emancipation invites viewers to reflect on liberation as both a historical milestone and a living, evolving practice.
